This role of the Youth Worker is assisting the Senior Youth Worker with the day-to-day delivery of our targeted youth work programme across Cheshire East. A substantive part of this role will be leading and delivering Care Leaver Hubs in Macclesfield and Crewe. They will attend multi agency meetings when required. Working with the Senior Youth Worker they will use the information and knowledge from data and meetings to deliver a robust targeted youth work offer to engage Cheshire East’s most vulnerable young people. They will work with Senior Youth Worker to plan, deliver and evaluate targeted diverse youth work programmes via 1:1’s or in a group work setting within a geographical location via detached, outreach or building based to promote and empower targeted and vulnerable young people to participate to gain positive outcomes in personal, social, health and well-being and educational development. To reduce risk taking behaviour and risk of harm. To measure impact and evidence the outcomes for young people in line with Early Help objectives and Youth Work Curriculum.

About the role

1. Plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate Targeted Youth Work within Hubs, detached and outreach within the Cheshire East to engage young people into activities to achieve and develop and reduce risk taking behaviours.

2. Oversee the day-to-day line management of a small number of Youth Support Workers to ensure effective Targeted Youth Work is delivered within agreed policy, targets, and quality standards to meet the Early Help Strategy.

3. Act as advocate for Young People through representation at meetings involving Council, Agency, Partnerships, and other representatives to ensure young peoples’ voices are heard and provision meets their needs.

4. Assess Young People’s needs through appropriate assessment tools and engagement plans to ensure they can achieve their full potential and get the right support at the right time

5. Work other professionals both, internally and externally, and attend meetings to ensure Young People’s needs are identified and met.

6. Ensure youth work is carried out in line with Health and Safety requirements to ensure the safe delivery of services to Young People. Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed and children are of kept safe.

7. Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to, and young people are safe from harm or exploitation.

8. Work with partner agencies to engage young people across various services and parent’s agencies to re-engage with provision / services.

The job holder may be required at any time to undertake any work up to and/or at a level consistent with existing responsibilities. These tasks may be at any location in Cheshire East, to ensure the effective deployment of labour, materials, transport and equipment to meet daily service requirements.
