The role is to provide education for children that require additional support on a short-term basis for example, due to a period of ill health or when there is a change in the child's provision due to an EHC plan. Teaching is normally on a 1 to 1 basis and takes place at the child's home, school, local library or online and could be in any location across Cheshire East.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, qualified teacher to join the Cheshire East Tuition Team.
The Tuition Team provides 1 to 1 teaching for vulnerable children who cannot currently attend school due to a medical need or for children who are in receipt of an EHCP but are between school placements. This support is also utilised at times by other Cheshire East teams within the Education Department such as Virtual Schools and Fair Access. The team currently employs 25 teachers who work across all schools and localities within the county. Teaching normally takes place in pupils’ homes, schools, local libraries or online.
This is a teaching role for an experienced, qualified teacher with a specialism in the areas of Science or Maths. Science teachers would be expected to teach some maths and will be supported to do this. The role of the teacher is to provide education for children that require additional support on a short-term basis and to support their return to a school setting. The teacher will be required to deliver either Maths or Science as a minimum but may also engage students through the delivery of other subject matter. The teacher will produce written reports and be expected to attend review meetings to discuss the progress of the child. The person will need to be flexible, approachable, have excellent communication skills and be competent in the use of ICT.
Continuous professional development is provided for all staff along with, 1 to 1 supervision and further safeguarding training.
Contracts are offered on a basis of 20 hours per week, across a minimum of 4 days. Due to working in a variety of locations across the county a degree of travel is required, and mileage compensated for.
