Business and Growth Officer

To support the delivery of programmes and initiatives across high growth SMEs, top 100 businesses, new inward investors in target sectors and rural enterprises to encourage business growth, and to promote job creation within Cheshire East. Furthermore, the role will ensure compliance with internal project management processes and any external funding or grant requirements, and provide administrative support to specific projects and the Economic Development Service's overall programme plan.

An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Business and Growth Team in Economic Development. The position is for 1 x FTE on a permanent basis. 

About you

You will support the Business and Growth Manager in the planning, design and delivery of business support programmes. This exciting role is a front-facing role requiring a candidate with a passion for economic growth and inward investment to engage existing businesses across Cheshire East in business growth support and to support in attracting new investors to the borough.

You will have a good level of experience in managing customer enquiries, coordinating new inward investment propositions and understand the policy context associated with local, regional and national business support programmes.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree level qualification, or equivalent experience, in an economic development, marketing and/or business engagement related field.

  • Knowledge and understanding of business support, marketing and engagement processes, protocols and best practice.

  • Policy and external funding sources associated with area of activity (e.g. SMEs, business, growth & enterprise), including knowledge and understanding of business grant processes.

  • Experience of supporting and delivering meetings and events, and be able to organise, plan and support delivery of creative marketing and engagement campaigns.
